One year ago on June 9, 2022, our church building was destroyed. We continue to mourn the loss of our parishioner and friend, Verlene Kuntschik, who succumbed to injuries sustained that day. While our hearts are heavy with the loss, we still exalt God in all His glory. We thank God daily for being part of a community who supported us in many ways. To the first responders who risked their lives and health to battle the fire, you have our eternal love. To the Diocese of Victoria and our faithful parishioners, your leadership and steadfast faith continues to give rise to hope within the devastation, you will forever remain in our prayers and in our hearts. To the multitude of churches across denominations, businesses and organizations whose fundraisers will help us rebuild, may God always bless you for aiding us in the rebuilding process. To the families and individuals who gave tirelessly of their gift of time, talent and treasure, you are the salt of the earth and may God reward you. Above all, to all those who offered prayers and continue to pray for our parish family, your love of God and neighbor shines like a beacon that lights up the world.
We may have faced tragedy, but you have deepened our relationship with God. You strengthen our faith in humanity, you provide hope for the future, and the love you share with us gives us courage to move forward. It is not possible to thank everyone enough for supporting us. We ask that God Bless you and keep you all the days of your life.
God is Good!
With love,
The Parish Family of the Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church
